A classic Italian dish featuring crispy chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce and gooey mozzarella cheese.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  3. Coat each chicken breast with olive oil, then dredge it in the breadcrumb mixture. Press it in tightly to make sure it sticks.
  4. Arrange the coated chicken breasts in a baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
  5. Pour marinara sauce over each breast and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  6. Return the dish to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a crispy texture, reheat leftovers in the oven rather than in the microwave.
