  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 8 slices cinnamon swirl bread
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for the glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
  2. Pour this mixture into a shallow dish for easy soaking.
  3. Dip each slice of cinnamon swirl bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  5. Cook each slice until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
