A delightful twist on classic breakfast favorites, combining gooey cinnamon rolls with the comforting taste of French toast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slices white bread (soft sandwich bread, brioche, or challah)
  • 3 tbsp butter, softened (plus more for cooking)
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (for coating)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Flatten the bread: Use a rolling pin or your hands to gently flatten each slice of bread.
  2. Make the cinnamon filling: In a small bowl, blend the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth. Spread it over each slice of bread.
  3. Roll them up: Starting at one end, tightly roll each slice into a log.
  4. Prepare the egg mixture: Whisk the eggs and milk together until well combined.
  5. Dip and cook: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat with butter. Dip each roll-up into the egg mixture until fully coated. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Coat in cinnamon sugar: While warm, roll the cooked roll-ups in a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with maple syrup, or serve alongside a creamy glaze.

Notes

Feel free to substitute the bread with gluten-free options or use different types of sugar. Best served warm with fresh berries or a side of crispy bacon.
