Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  3. Mix the melted butter, milk, eggs, nutmeg, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until smooth.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Fill each muffin cup about two-thirds full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  8. Mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  9. Dip the tops of the warm muffins in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
  10. Return the muffins to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes to achieve a crispy top.
