A creamy, dreamy chicken dish that combines tender chicken breasts with a luscious sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or date nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp finely minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes, well drained
  • 2 tbsp salted butter

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Brown the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until they develop a golden crust.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth and all-purpose flour until smooth. Pour this mixture into your slow cooker.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika into the slow cooker.
  5. Place the browned chicken breasts on top of the broth mixture.
  6. Scatter the sun-dried tomatoes over the chicken and dot with pieces of salted butter.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3 hours.
  8. About 1 hour before serving (if on low) or 30 minutes (if on high), stir in the heavy cream. Cover and let it finish cooking to thicken the sauce.
  9. Serve the chicken and creamy sauce over pasta or mashed potatoes, garnished with fresh basil and grated parmesan cheese.

Notes

For the best results, ensure the chicken is properly browned before placing it in the slow cooker. You can replace the heavy cream with half-and-half or use gluten-free flour if needed.
