A warm and customizable bowl of oatmeal that serves as a comforting breakfast or snack any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water or milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Toppings of choice (e.g., fruits, nuts, honey, or cinnamon)

Instructions

  1. Bring the 2 cups of water or milk to a rolling boil in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add in the 1 cup of rolled oats and the 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  3. Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oats become soft and creamy.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit for a minute.
  5. Serve hot and add your favorite toppings!

Notes

For creamier oats, taste and let it simmer for an extra minute. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
