A quick and comforting dish featuring crispy chicken in a sweet and savory honey-butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken thighs (boneless skinless, cut into 2” pieces)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp flour (gluten-free if desired)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 garlic cloves (sliced thinly)
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 tbsp cold unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • Finely chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into two-inch pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cornstarch, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Toss the chicken pieces in this mixture until they are lightly coated.
  4. Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the chicken in a single layer.
  5. Cook for about 8 minutes per side until the chicken is golden brown and crispy. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
  6. In the same skillet, add the sliced garlic and sauté for about one minute until fragrant.
  7. Lower the heat and add the cold butter to the skillet. Stir in the honey, soy sauce (or tamari), and rice vinegar. Mix until well combined, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  8. Return the chicken to the pan and toss it until thoroughly coated in the sauce.
  9. Garnish with finely chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Ensure your oil is hot enough before adding the chicken for crispiness. Let the chicken marinate in the cornstarch mixture for added flavor.
