Delicious tender pieces of chicken coated in a sticky, sweet, and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for quick weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch (optional)
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium chicken stock
  • 12 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional, Sriracha recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the chicken breast cubes with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken cubes in a single layer. Cook for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they’re golden and cooked through.
  4. Once cooked, reduce the heat and add the minced garlic, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in honey, chicken stock, lemon juice, and hot sauce if using. Stir to coat the chicken.
  6. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Remove from heat, garnish with parsley and chili flakes, and serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with a splash of chicken stock if necessary.
