Delicious crispy fried chicken nestled in warm, buttery biscuits drizzled with sweet and spicy hot honey sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk (for marinating)
  • 1 cup hot honey sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a bowl and soak them in 1 cup of buttermilk. Allow marinating for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  3. Make the biscuit dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually mix in 3/4 cup of buttermilk.
  4. Shape the biscuits: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead gently and roll it out to about 1 inch thick. Cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
  5. Bake the biscuits: Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. Fry the chicken: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, season with salt and pepper, and fry until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Add the hot honey: Drizzle hot honey sauce over each piece of crispy chicken just before serving.
  8. Assemble the dish: Place the fried chicken between the halves of a biscuit and drizzle with extra hot honey if desired.

Notes

These biscuits are best served immediately. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in an oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
