Delicious chicken skewers marinated with zesty lemon, spicy hot sauce, and fragrant garlic, perfect for gatherings or a busy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs. chicken tenders or thighs (cut in 2-3” pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons cracked pepper
  • 1 lemon (zest only)
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 12 tablespoons hot sauce (e.g., Crystal, Frank’s, Louisiana)
  • 23 tablespoons olive oil
  • 18oz. stick salted butter (slightly melted)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 lemon (zest and juice)
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce (e.g., Crystal, Frank’s, Louisiana)
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the chicken pieces with lemon pepper seasoning, paprika, cracked pepper, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, hot sauce, olive oil, and half of the melted butter in a large bowl.
  2. Mix everything well to ensure each piece is fully coated. Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes; if you have the time, let it marinate for up to 2 hours for even better flavor.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers, leaving a bit of space between each piece for even cooking.
  5. Brush the skewers lightly with the remaining melted butter.
  6. Place the skewers in the air fryer and cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and is golden brown.

Notes

Marinating the chicken longer enhances the flavor. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer for even cooking.
