Delightful Quark-Cakes that combine creamy Magerquark and wholesome oats, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

  • 250 g Magerquark
  • 100 g Haferflocken (oats)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 50 g Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • Cinnamon (to taste)
  • Oil or Butter (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the Magerquark, eggs, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the oats, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the quark mixture, stirring continuously until you achieve a smooth batter.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat, adding a bit of oil or butter to coat the pan.
  5. Using a tablespoon, drop small portions of batter onto the skillet.
  6. Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Transfer the quark-cakes to a paper towel to absorb excess oil, and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for longer storage. Experiment with substitutes like agave syrup or adding fruits and nuts for variations.
