Fluffy, protein-packed quark coins with oatmeal, perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 250 g Magerquark
  • 100 g oats (Haferflocken)
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Cinnamon (to taste)
  • Oil or butter (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the Magerquark, eggs, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Mix until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the oats, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Gradually fold your dry ingredients into the quark mixture. Stir until a uniform batter comes together.
  4. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a bit of oil or butter—just enough to lightly coat the bottom.
  5. Using a tablespoon, scoop small portions of the batter onto the skillet.
  6. Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes until the coins turn golden brown.
  7. Once cooked, allow them to drain on a kitchen towel before serving them warm.

Notes

These coins can be topped with maple syrup, yogurt, fresh fruits, or nuts. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
