  • 8 breakfast sausage links
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the breakfast sausage links according to the package instructions until golden and cooked through. Set aside to cool.
  2. Trim the crusts off each slice of bread and flatten the bread to about 1/4 inch thick with a rolling pin.
  3. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well mixed.
  4. Place a sausage link at one end of a flattened bread slice and roll it tightly, securing with a toothpick if necessary. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter, allowing it to melt.
  6. Dip each rolled sausage into the egg mixture, ensuring it is thoroughly coated.
  7. Carefully place the coated rolls in the skillet, cooking until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes. Remove toothpicks before serving.
  8. Serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
