Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g Chicken, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil (optional)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp Fresh Ginger, grated (optional)
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • Sliced Green Onions

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and coat with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat and add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Simmer for about 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry, add to the skillet, and stir until the sauce thickens and is glossy.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet and coat with the sauce.
  7. Serve garnished with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute soy sauce with tamari. You can also add chili flakes for an extra kick.
